RESPONSIBILITIES
Write effective and scalable code and supporting and administrating various databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL)
Aid in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, containers and software within hosted environments.
Support system updates for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution. Provide second level technical support and guidance to users and administrators
Help in securing Linux systems via established security protocols, ensuring data privacy and network security.
Support monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Contribute to server capacity planning, management and audits
Constantly develop our existing Digital Life Science platform to enhance productivity with more efficient scientific workflows and tools, as well as enable lab automation.
Work closely with the cheminformatics and bioinformatics teams to enable data analysis, simulations and predictive modelling, in particular supporting large-scale chemical and biological data handling.
Build integrations between lab software packages using APIs for internal use and facing external clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience with and knowledge of current methods and technologies in software development, preferably in APIs, software integration, cloud platforms and databases
Experience with version control tools like Git. Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI. Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Good understanding of Linux OS and server hardware. Interest in learning about network protocols and server security measures
Knowledge of Python is a plus
Experience working with scientific data, particularly chemical data, is a strong plus
The ideal candidate will have experience in building high-performing, responsive software integrations and standalone internal web applications, developing back-end elements and integrating with the front-end systems facing internal lab members and external customers
Good problem-solving skills and ability to learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues. Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical staff
Working proficiency in spoken and written English
